SHOOTS.. The day came which was yesterday and it was the first day of my school regatta. My legs were already aching due to all tat stretching and running for NAPFA. After i knew that there isn't radial category (smaller sail - for ladies), i chose to go for the laser (bigger sail - for guys) instead to get a better speed. I was glad cos i could managed a laser better and didn't capsize at all compared to the other girls due to the fact tat i have had slightly more experiences than them. I was ranked the third after three races with Dale, SPYC's president first and Sarah, my fellow sailor at second. Close behind me are Faizal and Gengxian at fourth and fifth respectively. That gave me lots of pressure thou cos they could usually perform better on a laser during normal trainings due to their strength and weight and i was at the disadvantage.
Today was the day of the battle of the sexes. First race, i totally screwed myself by coming back at 9th position which was behind everyone i mentioned above. At tat point, i was like 'damn, what the hell happened sia?' At the last race, the wind suddenly died down and the fact that i am lightest on a full rig gave me advantage to slowly overtake all others and luckily, another guy from SP took a wrong turn and i was leading from then on. Dale was at the back giving me all that hot pursue. *phew* I guess i was blessed to make a comeback to be ranked 2nd.
Our school was overall 2nd for school championship.
